Celebrating the anniversary of its creation, Miami-Dade County Days is a two-day event in Tallahassee that includes more than 1,000 people representing our communities and culture. It has become a tradition in the event to have a new meaningful tie and scarf design for all the attendees to wear on the event day, and the chairmen have been coming to New World School of the Arts for the past years to give this design opportunity to students.
My proposal for the 2024 Miami Dade Days tie and scarf design features a pattern made up of a repetition of radiant yellow suns enclosing flat icons depicting a signature thing, object, or place each one of the incorporated territories of the county is known for. Drawing inspiration from the captivating hues of Miami's skyline, the color palette seamlessly blends dark blue, light blue, yellow, and white. This design encapsulates not only the aesthetic allure of Miami but also the unifying spirit and pride of its diverse communities through minimalistic design.
